Enlightenment
Oil Pastel on Arches Paper, 22 x 30 inch
The goal of this work was to create a diptych that presented change within scenes; either in mentality, spirit, or thought. The first panel is meant to represent the human before enlightenment: closed off in mind, isolated behind the fabric; behind suffering and attachment. The second panel shows the human’s discarding of attachment as they shed the fabric that once masked them, as they conform to a single hue: Nirvana. |
